Live outside the box.

“In 2009 when I was 6 months pregnant with my first child, my husband was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy (a precursor to heart failure) and had a defibrillator implanted. He manages his condition incredibly and his diagnosis has not held him – or our family – back on any level. In fact, it took our zest for life to a whole new level. Our dream to travel around Australia in a caravan went from something we thought we would do “one day” as retirees, to something we made happen now and it was an incredible, unforgettable experience.

You never know what life has in store for you – so I treat it as an adventure: seeking out opportunities and give everything a good crack. This is why I created 50 Days of First – to motivate myself and others to try new things, because first experiences are so memorable and can be life-changing. I believe you should never regret trying something, even if it doesn’t turn out how you wish, but you might always regret it if you don’t try.” – Elisha

Elisha’s passion is being an advocate for living an active, thrilling life and inspiring positive social change.

Elisha started her fitness journey as a national athlete, winning numerous national rowing titles in competitions throughout Australia and internationally – at the same time completing both a Law and a Business Degree.

She has been actively involved in the health and fitness industry in Australia for many years. She is a Director of Energize Health Club in Sydney and co-founder of Australia’s first online fitness video website www.exerciseondemand.com.au

Passionate about exercise for mothers and mothers-to-be, Elisha created the Pregercize program, aimed at delivering real results for the body and mind.

Elisha blogs about her parenting experiences, offers fitness tips, healthy recipes, and active lifestyle ideas for children and parents on her blog www.elisharose.com. She also blogs about her travel adventures, including her year long camping adventure in 2013, during which she travelled over 40,000km with her family, driving an entire lap of Australia’s coast.

In 2015 Elisha rolled out some new community projects:

Count Me In For Change, which is aimed at inspiring and creating positive social change and Funky Food Boxes, which is aimed at providing simple, fun and nutritious choices for children. In the year of 2015, Elisha also launched the Mums That Tri program; a hugely successful program that supported and trained a group of mothers to complete their first triathlon. 2016 promises to be an even more exciting year for the Mums That Tri program, with a growing number of mums enrolling to take part.

Since starting triathlons, Elisha has experienced a sense of purpose for exercise and a thrill of achieving something that she had never before considered. Doing triathlons has had an enormously positive and fun impact on her life and her family’s life: e.g. redefining family holidays, giving her children unique experiences and memories (spectating her triathlon events and also trying their own kids triathlons), and reasserting the importance of looking after mums health & fitness (because let’s face it, usually mum comes last in the family pecking order).

Elisha resides in the northern beaches of Sydney, Australia, with her husband, two young daughters and their rescue dog, Zorika.

Like a rose has many petals, I suppose I’ve got many layers. And because my name is what it is, I figure using the flower analogy is appropriate!
The Mother: I have 2 children aged 7 and 9 years. Love, love, love.
The Bohemian: A keen nature lover and camper, I spent a year driving a lap of Australia with my family and caravan.
The Triathlete: My latest personal adventure is in the triathlon scene. I’ll be representing Australia in my age group at the World Triathlon Championships in Mexico, September 2016.
The (attempting) Minimalist: Decluttering is cathartic, but more importantly is not accumulating in the first place. Unbridled consumerism is not sustainable, nor is it right.

The Nerd: I’ve done a fair bit of study in my life including B.Bus, LLB(Hons), Dip(Legal Prac), Cert III in Fitness, Cert IV in Fitness. I love learning. My current joke is that I’m currently undertaking a B.Motherhood, but I expect it will be a lifelong degree.

The Business Owner: I co-own and operate Energize Health Club in Sydney with my husband.
The Active Lifestyle Advocate & Entrepreneur: I’m always keen to roll out new projects that inspire us to be active and live a life that is healthy and thrilling.

Mums That Tri

Mums That Tri is a group for mothers that want to try a triathlon, or continue with their tri-journey. It’s about doing something you’ve always wanted to try (tri!) // It’s about tri-ing something you may never thought was possible // It’s about surprising yourself with what you CAN do if you just try // It’s about inspiring your family and living a fuller, healthier, thrilling life.
